This painting (no AI) weaves together a diversity of sources to present a vision of human power - a kind of psychic spirit animal.
The main figure is of course the sabretooth tiger, harkening back to Paleolithic times and the tens of thousands of years that our ancestors lived co-present with these powerful and terrifying fauna. Its head morphs into antlers and human-like shoulders, and overall can be seen as a "therianthrope", a shamanic blend of human and animal consciousness. Its content is energy - amorphous and jeweled, similar to the "Cherubim" series of renowned visionary artist Ernst Fuchs (if you don't know his work, check it out!). The figure on the lower left is a painting of a wild boar from Gobekli Tepe - one of the most interesting, enigmatic, and ancient Neolithic sites. It is about 11,800 years old and located in modern Turkey. The macaw parrot is suggestive of "paradise", mimicry, and intelligence. The golden hand resonates with much Upper Paleolithic art, as many handprints are found in prehistoric cave and rock-shelter sites worldwide. In the center of the hand is the central star of Orion's Belt, pointing toward enigmatic celestial power. On the lower right, the sabretooth figure dissolves into Celtic-inspired knotwork, another Neolithic aesthetic whose origins fade into prehistory. The Mystery of human origins is tied together compositionally through the "?" at center.
All of these elements woven together, for me, act as a talisman of human power - pointing back to the endless depths of beauty, courage, and strength of our early ancestors whose evolution was certainly intimate with creativity and psychedelic consciousness. The mysterious clues to be found in examining traces of our ancestors may yield invaluable keys to humanity's survival through the many global crises and opportunities we face today.
