**This is the LEFT PANEL of the Archaic Renaissance Triptych - the CENTRAL and RIGHT PANELS can be ordered separately!
Painted by hand with a stylus in Photoshop without AI
Culminated from a sketch begun in 2019
This painting is a celebration of color and energy, woven within a story of some of humanity's earliest art, and layered like a resonant 5th with our central figure from the Renaissance of Michelangelo. The wings spread to reveal intricate patterning aligned to the principles of Islamic design. Light flows through it, also forging new paths in accordance with a yet higher octave.
The left panel shows the "lion man", among the earliest known sculptures in the world, 36-41,000 years old. It was found in Germany and is made of mammoth tusk.
The right panel shows the "Venus" of Willendorf, an archaic sculpture about 26,000 years old, exemplar of female goddess sculptures of ice-age Europe.
Paleolithic themes continue in the center of the whole composition, where emerging in light we see the horses from Chauvet Cave, containing parietal images about 35,000 years old.
Resonances between different eras and regions, with emphasis on archaic artifacts that guide us back into our ancestral humanness, perhaps reactivate a communion with our own culminative historical moment. I personally sense vital connections to the psychic states and powers of our archaic ancestors that hold missing links to our own psychic resources necessary to face the challenges of our time.
